NEXT STEPS

At this time, you should begin to group together your thoughts on your designated topic. The Panel Moderator (PM) will coordinate the allotted session time (per panelist) and work with you and the other panelists to plan and organize the discussions, topics and presentations to provide the most value and insight to the audience. The PM will need to discuss with you the panel format, content, time allotment, and overall expectations. The PM will schedule a conference call at least two weeks prior to your presentation deadline (April 20) with the PM, yourself and other panel participants to discuss the purpose, views, direction, and individual talking points to be discussed within your session.

PRESENTATION EXPECTATIONS

PMC is regarded as one of the more substantive-oriented conferences in the mortgage industry. We receive numerous requests to present on a variety of topics. Unfortunately, PMC cannot accommodate all requests or proposals. You have been selected to participate due to your experience and high regard as an expert in your field, as well as the relevance and timeliness of your proposed topic. Our panelists and moderators graciously devote a great deal of preparation time into their presentations – time that shows in high-quality presentations that our audience has grown to expect. As such, PowerPoint presentations are mandatory for each panelist. Presentation detail (e.g. PowerPoint presentation), must be submitted to Veros no later than 3:00 p.m. PST, Friday, April 20. We recognize that everyone has busy schedules, so if you feel that you cannot commit the time to produce a high-quality presentation please contact Cecilie Nelson at cnelson@PMC2012.com as soon as possible so a replacement may be promptly pursued.

Over the years, all involved with PMC have worked hard to build a quality conference adhering to certain expectations. For example, all panelists should prepare a 10-20 minute (depending on the time of the panel and number of panelists) presentation with PowerPoint slides describing their experience, understanding, applications, and opinions concerning the given topic. Panelists are asked to discuss substantive issues that may include analytics, applications, market trends, industry expectations, and other relevant content. This is not to say that presentations are required to be technical in nature. Shared experiences (both positive and negative) and your particular expertise provide valuable and deep insight for the PMC audience. Panelists are encouraged to present their full opinions, even if believed to be controversial, to further debate and increase more thought-provoking discussion and insight. We encourage an interactive exchange among moderators, speakers and audience members.

PRESENTATION STYLE & SUBMISSION

Presentations should be in a heavy font (e.g. Arial Bold, not Times New Roman) for easy viewing on the screen. Keep in mind in many cases your audience will be several rows back and may have difficulty reading thin, elaborate or lightly colored fonts. Please also keep this thought in mind when inserting charts, diagrams or other graphics. We want your presentation to have the IMPACT it deserves.

Please e-mail your completed PowerPoint, along with any special presentation or session requirements (e.g. Flash, sound, handouts), to Cecilie Nelson at info@PMC2012.com. The PMC team will make an effort to proofread all presentations, however, responsibility for content, grammar and formatting checks lies with you as the speaker and owner of the presentation.

PRESENTATION RESTRICTIONS

The PMC audience expects an educational experience that affords an opportunity to learn about particular topics and keep up with current and emerging industry trends. Our audience does not expect to be faced with commercials or infomercials for a particular product offering or solution. THERFORE SPEAKERS ARE RESTRICTED FROM MARKETING INDIVIDUAL PRODUCTS, SOLUTIONS OR SERVICES. PMC recognizes that presentations may necessarily include references to a particular product or service for purposes of example, demonstration or references to data source. However, these references should not evolve into a blatant marketing pitch or be the primary focus of the presentation. Further, all panelists should refrain from making comments that are confidential or outside of the public domain that are directed to specific vendors, lenders or other market participants in either a positive or negative light. History proves that these are generally issues of common sense.

AUDIENCE RESPONSE SYSTEM

As part of our program, we utilize an audience response system to liven up the PMC program and to encourage audience participation. The system interacts with touch keypads located at each attendee’s seat and will be made available for General Session presentations. Speakers presenting in the General Sessions are strongly encouraged to utilize this tool by incorporating questions into their presentation and format possible answers in a 1, 2, 3 format (not A, B, C or other alternative). Please look for a separate email detailing instruction.

SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIALS

PMC speakers are not required to create supplemental materials (i.e. handouts,) to correspond with their presentation. In the event the speaker’s presentation would be benefited by the distribution of such handouts, the PMC team can make such materials available online via PMC2012.com. All materials must be provided to the PMC team no later than April 20, 2012, in order to make materials available online prior to the conference. Any materials received after this date will be made available within 1-2 weeks following the conference. Speakers are responsible for the content, grammar and formatting of all supplemental materials and PMC reserves the right not to make available any materials that do not uphold the integrity of the program.

SESSION TIMING

The PMC team will do its best to transfer between panels as quickly and efficiently as possible. We will not announce a formal break time between each session as we try to maximize our time together. For this reason, it is very important that you are aware of your session start and end times and the length of your presentation and Q&A period. Speakers who run over their time allocation could jeopardize the final Q&A period or sessions to follow. Time management of the session rests solely with you. Your PM will discuss your session timeline, providing the exact time allotment of the presentations and Q&A period.
Out of respect for all participants and attendees, please make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes early for a sound check and are prepared to start your session promptly.

AUDIO VISUAL SET-UP

Presentation rooms will be equipped with the following audiovisual equipment:

  • LCD projector/screens - behind the speaker for audience view
  • LCD monitor(s) – in front of the speaker for reference and queuing
  • Podium
  • Microphone – available to the speaker(s) are a podium microphone, wireless hand-held microphone, or lapel microphone – please advise in advance if you have a specific preference
  • Wireless slide controller
  • Laptop – at the podium for direct slide advancement

Laser pointers or other presentation aides should be supplied by the speaker and (where applicable) tested in advance of the presentation during a pre-schedule on-site rehearsal.

ON-SITE REHEARSAL

We strongly recommend that your panel meet face-to-face at the conference prior to the session for a final review of format, topics and timing. Your PM will be coordinating a convenient time for everyone. We also encourage individual or group speaker practice times which are available Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in mornings and evening time slots before General Sessions commence or after General Sessions conclude.

To schedule, contact PMC Event Planner, Cecilie Nelson, at (714) 415-6341 or info@PMC2012.com.

All speakers should submit a photo and brief bio on themselves for inclusion in the PMC conference guide “RiskWire”, the PMC website and additional conference materials.
